‘American Idol’ contestant from Paterson gets standing ovation

Wé Ani had another powerful performance on “American Idol” that got the judges to their feet Monday night. News 12 New Jersey interviewed the 24-year-old from Paterson in the Jersey Buzz when she started this journey and now, she's in the top 26. Ani sang a cover for Miley Cyrus' "Edge of Midnight.” She is fighting for America’s votes to secure a spot in the top 20 which will get revealed next Monday.

Maulik Pancholy in Metuchen this week

Maulik Pancholy is best known for his role as Jonathan, Jack's dedicated assistant on the award-winning comedy "30 Rock.” But he's not just an actor, he's also an author and activist. This Thursday at 6 p.m., fans are invited to join Pancholy for a conversation at the Metuchen Golf and Country Club in Edison. He co-founded the anti-bullying campaign "Act To Change" after he was appointed to former President Barack Obama’s advisory commission on Asian American’s and Pacific Islanders in 2014.

The sound of Sting is coming to New Jersey

Sting, the rock and roll hall of famer and former front man for The Police, will deliver classic hits for his My Songs World Tour. He's added several North American cities to the tour coming this fall, including a stop in Atlantic City for Labor Day weekend on Sunday, Sept. 3 at Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena. Sting's son, Joe Sumner, the front man for Fiction Plane, will be his special guest. Tickets are on sale through Ticketmaster.
