As the sun soaked up the last of the water remaining from last week?s floods, Paterson residents began the daunting task of cleaning up and adding up the damages. Local groups came equipped with brooms, bleach and brushes to help those homes and businesses hit hardest by the storm. Public Service Enterprise Group crews were forced to keep a water pump working constantly to help restore gas lines underground. Nathaniel Moses says the last time he was in his basement apartment, he was worried for his life; ?all of a sudden the water started rushing through the front door. We only had seconds to get out of here." Restaurant owner Jerome Sellow says although the flood damaged the entire basement, ruined boilers and eliminated hot water, with the help of the community, he will be able to re-open his business.
