Passing showers expected Friday; beautiful Labor Day weekend ahead

Labor Day weekend is gearing up to see great weather for the unofficial end to summer. New Jersey will just have to get through some passing rain showers on Friday.
Thursday evening will see partly cloudy skies, with more clouds developing in the overnight hours. Overnight lows will dip to the mid-60s.
Friday will begin partly cloudy with a slight chance of passing showers by Friday afternoon. Daytime highs will be in the upper 70s and low 80s. The skies are expected to clear by Friday night with lows in the upper 50s.
Saturday will see plenty of sunshine with highs in the mid- to upper 70s. Clear skies remain overnight with lows dipping to the upper 50s.
Sunday will be mostly sunny with a few clouds in the afternoon. Highs will be around 79 degrees. Sunday night will be partly cloudy with lows around 61 degrees.
Labor Day will see a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the low 80s. Monday night’s skies will improve, with clear conditions expected overnight. Lows will dip to around 62.
DROUGHT CONDITIONS:
Rain is unlikely for the next week, and drought conditions are expected to grow over the next week despite a few stray showers on Friday.
The United States Department of Agriculture's weekly Drought Monitor is released once a week on Thursday mornings. As of last week, 7% of the state was in drought located in North Jersey with "Abnormally Dry" conditions scattered across the state.
The chance for rain will increase late next week, although it's too far out for any specific details. Temperatures will remain near or below average for the next 10 days.
