A 40-year-old Passaic man died Wednesday while trying to fix a kitchen appliance.

Passaic officials say that Omar Lopez was trying to repair a microwave and was electrocuted.

First responders attempted to resuscitate Lopez for about 45 minutes.

Lopez was pronounced dead at the scene, officials say.
