A few lucky kids from New Jersey were able to see if they had what it takes to be a firefighter.
Children ages 9 through 15 participated this week in the Passaic Junior Fire Academy. The five-day program allowed the kids to run through drills and mock fire routines.
On Thursday, the kids got to watch the firefighters use the Jaws of Life and how to properly use a fire extinguisher.
The kids said that their favorite part was the smoke room – a room filled with artificial smoke and a victim to save.
Friday will be the last day of the academy, including a graduation ceremony.
