Bronx parishioners who used to attend Our Lady of Pity Church returned Tuesday to honor the church's patron saint. Each year, in honor of Saint Silverio, parishioners walk through the streets of the South Bronx. Many say the streets are where Italian immigrants from the Island of Ponza first settled. The church closed in 2003 and parishioners say the ceremony is a symbol of a neighborhood that's changed. Many of Our Lady of Pity's former parishioners now live in Westchester. Next weekend, they'll continue to celebrate the patron saint with a feast in New Rochelle.
