Registration is now open for a youth program that gives students hands‑on exposure to law enforcement through the Orange County Sheriff’s Office junior police academy.
The program is open to students entering grades three through five, with a session scheduled for the end of July.
Students entering grades six through eight can register for a separate session at the beginning of August.
Both sessions will run for five days.
Sheriff’s officials said participants will take part in activities, classroom presentations and hands‑on experiences with local deputies.
The program is offered on a first‑come, first‑served basis.
