Many parents are planning to attend a meeting Monday about soil contamination at a Paramus school.
On Friday, town officials said tests for pesticide contamination inside the West Brook Middle School came up negative. Air samples taken inside at the same time will be released Tuesday or Wednesday. However, that?s not enough for some parents who said they want answers from the school board, not the town. Many parents, like Elaine Rizzo, are angry they weren?t told of the contamination immediately. "The problem is they didn't tell anybody. You can't keep something like this to yourselves," Rizzo said.Earlier tests conducted by the Environmental Protection Agency revealed the level of contaminants in the soil outside of the school was 10 times higher than federal regulations allow.Monday?s meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the East Brook School.
