A Palisades Park woman says borough politicians are punishing her for expressing her opinion.
Debbie Duffy wrote a letter to the Bergen Records, pointing out that her property taxes went up by almost 40 percent after a town wide revaluation. Duffy says a campaign against her was launched by Mayor James Rotundo (D) within days.
A flier was sent to town residents slamming Duffy for her tax complaints. The front of the flier lists her contact info and asks if anyone is interested in purchasing her home.
"I started getting people ringing my doorbell and phone calls from people who thought the house was for sale," says Duffy. "Why would they spend all that money in a flier about me? I'm not a candidate ? I'm not running for anything."
Rotundo was not available for comment, despite being told News 12 New Jersey would be coming a day earlier.
