A late‑night fire broke out in Hoboken after crews responded to a second‑alarm blaze at 918 Washington Street around 11:10 p.m.

Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the first floor of Caffe Boun Gusto.

Crews safely evacuated a resident who lived two units above the restaurant.

Officials say the fire was located in the rear of the restaurant and was brought under control by 1:30 a.m.The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
