An overnight brush fire kept firefighters busy in Franklin Lakes.

Just before 4 a.m., firefighters responded to a brush fire just off High Mountain Road in Franklin Lakes.

The Fire Chief tells News 12 New Jersey their initial concern was since the brush fire was in the large back yard of one of the houses there, it would spread and affect homes on Osage Lane.

Fortunately, they kept the flames at bay and had control of the situation by 5:30 a.m.

The Chief says the cause does not appear to be suspicious as an investigation continues.
