Overhead wire issues cause disruptions on Amtrak, New Jersey Transit lines

Crews are in the process of clearing the tracks, according to Amtrak officials.

Overhead wire issues are causing major disruptions on Amtrak and New Jersey Transit lines. Amtrak is temporarily disrupted between New York and Newark.
“All trains scheduled to operate in that area should expect to be delayed,” Amtrak posted on its website.
NJ Transit’s Northeast Corridor Line is suspended in both directions between New York Penn Station and Metropark.
The New Jersey Coast Line is suspended between New York Penn Station and Long Branch, the Raritan Valley Line is suspended in both directions and Midtown Direct is being diverted to Hoboken.
Cross-honoring is in effect, with NJ Transit bus and private carriers and PATH at Newark Penn Station, Hoboken and 33rd Street-New York.
Crews are in the process of clearing the tracks, according to Amtrak officials.
