Animal overcrowding is becoming an issue at many shelters throughout New Jersey.
The Montville Animal Shelter is desperate to find loving homes for its animals. Animal Control Officer Gail Stromph said the shelter currently has 40 cats and kittens and 11 dogs. If they aren?t adopted, the officers will have no choice but to put down some of the animals.
?We do euthanize. Mostly it?s the un-adoptable animals,? Stromph said. ?The animals that bite and feral cats, that sort of thing.?
Animal control officers in Montville have made extra room to keep up with the overcrowding. They say an animal population boom is occurring all over the Garden State.
