Online petition calls for ban on tianeptine, aka 'gas station heroin'

A petition has been created on Change.org to legally ban a dietary supplement colloquially known as “gas station heroin.”

The substance, called tianeptine is known to cause dangerous side effects like seizures, overdoses and death.

The Food and Drug Administration has previously warned the public about the side effects of tianeptine.

The petition is calling for a legal ban on the products. It is also urging shop owners to stop selling the products.
