One person was killed in a shooting Tuesday night in Jersey City.

The shooting took place just before 8:30 p.m. on Cornelison Avenue. The area consists primarily of apartment buildings, as well as a park and businesses, including a coffee shop.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed the fatal shooting and said the case remains under investigation. No additional information was provided about the victim or any potential suspects. No other injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for the prosecutor’s office said more information will be released when it becomes available.
