The Union County Prosecutor’s Office has released new body camera video from the events leading up to the shooting of a man by police in Trenton.
The shooting happened in February on Center Street.
Authorities say that officers approached Jajuan Henderson’s car and told him that he was under arrest. Officers apparently asked Henderson several times to step out of the car but say that he refused.
Glass can be heard breaking in the video and officers shout “you’re under arrest.” Another officer is heard saying “He’s trying to start the car,” and tires could be heard screeching.
Henderson’s attorneys say that he is paralyzed from the chest down.
The NAACP has filed a lawsuit against the city and police department.
The Union County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating because of a conflict of interest with the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.
