Officials have released 911 calls made during a deadly overdose incident at a mall in Hackensack last month.
The incident happened on March 17 at the Shops at Riverside mall. Police say that five women overdosed on fentanyl in the parking deck of the mall. One of those women died.
“They’re on the floor. I feel one of them. They’re all my coworker's downstairs,” one caller said.
The women were all employees of the Cheesecake Factory in the mall.
“I saw a guy in the middle of the parking lot, like in the parking areas,” another caller said. “Then this car with the doors wide open and as I got closer, I saw another person laying on the ground…the car’s running, the doors are open.”
Two people were charged in connection to the incident. Officials say that this is the latest in a series of incidents involving fentanyl in the county.
