New Jersey Transit officials say that a train struck and killed a man late Wednesday night in Middlesex.
The incident happened around 11:10 p.m. near Cedar Avenue.
Transit crews were moving the Raritan Valley Line train to the Meadowland Maintenance Complex in Kearny at the time of the incident. Only three crew members were on the train at the time and were not hurt.
Service on the Raritan Valley Line was suspended for a time, but resumed by the Thursday morning commute.
New Jersey Transit Police are investigating.
