Two elderly people were killed in a house fire in Burlington County, according to the prosecutor’s office.
Officials say that 92-year-old Lore Smith and an elderly man died Tuesday night after a fire started inside a house on the 500 block of Willow Boulevard in the Browns Mills section of Pemberton Township.
Firefighters were called to the home around 8:45 p.m. Officials say that the crews encountered heavy flames and thick, black smoke when they arrived.
A third victim was taken to Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia to be treated for smoke inhalation. He is listed in stable condition.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
