A three-alarm fire displaced a family in Bergen County and injured a firefighter, officials say.
The fire started around 1:30 p.m. Friday on Cheryl Lane in Old Tappan. It is believed that the fire started in the back of the house and then spread to the attic.
Firefighters from the Pascack Valley area and Rockland County, New York responded to the fire. It took crews about an hour and a half to extinguish it.
“There was no injuries to any of the civilians. They were all able to evacuate safely. We did have an injury to a fireman. He sustained a facial injury. He is at the hospital right now. It wasn’t life-threatening and not severe at all,” says Chief Brian Morgan.
News 12 New Jersey is told that the family will now stay with some friends.
Fire investigators are now working to determine the exact cause of the fire, but News 12 is told it does not appear to be suspicious.
