Officials say a fire destroyed several units of an Orange apartment building on Berwyn Street Saturday afternoon.
Neighbors say two buildings sitting next to each other were damaged in the fire. They say it was caused by a window fan that caught fire.
Officials say no one was injured but the fire destroyed six units altogether.
Firefighters were able to save several pets including two cats, a hamster and a bearded dragon.
Although several families know their belongings were destroyed in the fire, they are just happy they are safe.
"As long as I'm out and my family is out that's all that matters," said Jabbar Peterson. "A bunch of material stuff can be replaced."
Those families are still waiting to see if firefighters will let them go inside to see what is left of their possessions.
