Officials: Child fatally struck by UPS truck in Jersey City

A 6-year-old boy was fatally struck by a UPS truck in Jersey City.
Jersey City officials say it happened just before 4 p.m. Friday near Jersey Avenue and Sixth Street. The boy was pronounced dead a short time later.
A vigil of flowers, candles and pictures of the boy lines the corner of the street where he was killed.
"We are heartbroken by the tragic accident Friday afternoon in Jersey City. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and loved ones,” a spokesperson for UPS wrote in a statement to News 12.
Officials say the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
No charges have been filed.
