Officials are investigating after a Newark police officer allegedly fired his weapon at a suspect who was running from police.
The incident happened Friday night at around 8 p.m.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office says Newark police were looking for the man, who was wanted out of Elizabeth.
The suspect was arrested and was not injured.
He was then turned over to Elizabeth police.
