Three off-duty police officers rescued multiple residents from a burning motel early Sunday morning on Broadway near Baltimore Avenue in Point Pleasant Beach.

Photos from the scene show first responders working amid heavy damage to parts of the motel, which was fully evacuated during the incident.

The fire broke out in the early hours, prompting a swift response from the officers who happened to be nearby. Their actions ensured everyone escaped the building safely.

One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, but no other casualties were reported.
