An Ocean County elementary school shuttered for several months by mold is due to reopen on Monday.
Barnegat school district officials had announced in September that the Cecil S. Collins School would not open as planned after unsafe levels of mold were found in several classrooms.
The school's 365 students were temporarily moved to other schools in the Ocean County district while repairs were made at the building. Officials said walls were painted, ceiling tiles replaced, carpets removed and tile floors installed as part of the cleanup, and inspectors gave their approval to reopen the school late last month.
The work has cost the district about $700,000.
