With just hours until Christmas Eve, a bitter blast of rain, sleet and high winds has flooded many streets. And that means a lot less business for companies that were expecting it.
In Bay Head, roads were filled with floodwaters as a squall line of rain and sleet hit early Friday afternoon. But some customers still made the dangerous trip to pick up holiday treats.
News 12’s Chris Keating was in Hoboken to see how shoppers were dealing with the weather.
Jersey City resident Maximus Ekomba and his son were walking along the wet sidewalks on Washington Street as they finished up their shopping.
"Christmas is a very important time of year, so we have to do everything to make sure that as a parent all of the kids are happy,” said Ekomba.
Hoboken native Yoland Agosto wouldn't let the weather get in the way of completing his holiday shopping.
"You have to stay positive, positive mind. Just do what you have to do - it's not so bad,” he said.
