Police say a 32-year-old woman and a 7-year-old girl were hurt in two separate shootings in Brooklyn on Monday.

According to authorities, the shooting that involved the woman happened at around 10 p.m. at the intersection of East 108th Street and Glenwood Road outside the Breukelen Houses in Canarsie .

The 32-year-old got into some kind of argument with a man, who police described as a possible ex-boyfriend. Police say he allegedly pulled out a gun and shot her. She was hit in the face and the arm but is expected to survive.

The suspect took off in a white four-door pickup truck. The shooting happened in the confines of the 69th Precinct, which is assigned a Neighborhood Safety Team.

Earlier on Monday afternoon within the 60th Precinct, which does not have a Safety Team, a 7-year-old was grazed by a bullet. This shooting took place at the intersection of West 30th Street on Surf Avenue in Coney Island.

Police say a 28-year-old woman was walking with her 7-year-old daughter when they heard gunshots. They headed home but about two hours later, the 7-year-old apparently felt some pain. When her mom checked her out, she found what police say was a graze wound on her abdomen and a gunshot hole in her shirt and jacket. She was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

The shootings sparked a response from Councilmember Ari Kagan, who said, "Our area is not immune to gun violence. Today, a 7-year-old girl was shot in the middle of the day while walking on the street in Coney Island."

It’s not clear at this point when the 60th Precinct will get a Safety Team.
