North Bergen students had the chance to speak with astronauts aboard the International Space Station on Friday morning.
Students from North Bergen STEM Academy were able to participate in a Q&A with the astronauts. NASA called it an “in-flight education event.”
Some of the students said that it was an event that they have never experienced before.
“It’s really exciting. It’s a little nerve-wracking because these are experienced people – people that have experience in the STEM field, which is what I’m trying to do,” says junior Aaliyah Garcia. “It’s kind of intimidating, but also really exciting to see how they’ll respond.”
Five schools in New York also joined the event.
