Flood concerns for the vulnerable Raritan River remained low Friday despite it raining cats and dogs in the Garden State.
According to officials, recent dry weather has prevented the waterway from swelling. Officials say the river should be able to handle between 2 or 3 inches of precipitation.
The risk of flooding puts many Bound Brook residents on edge during rainstorms. A wall is currently being built around the low lying part of Bound Brook as part of a flood control project by the Army Corps of Engineers.
That project is presently only two thirds completed.
