New Jersey Transit says a bus driver caught on video going the wrong way on a Garden State Parkway exit ramp last week has been suspended with pay.
Agency spokesman Jim Smith says no passengers were aboard the bus when the driver made a wrong turn near exit 127 in Woodbridge. The incident occurred around 6:15 a.m. Thursday as the driver was about to start the route.
The driver's name has not been released. Smith says the driver is a 10-year employee who has a clean driving record.
A dashboard camera video taken by a driver on the exit ramp showed cars quickly stopping as the bus moved into the shoulder to avoid the oncoming traffic. No injuries were reported.
The incident remains under investigation.
