NJ Transit bus driver caught ‘texting while driving’

A New Jersey Transit bus driver appears to be caught on camera using his cellphone while driving.
A News 12 New Jersey viewer sent two videos that were taken on the No. 161 bus from New York to Paterson. The viewer says that there were two occasions where the driver was supposedly using his phone while driving – Nov. 5 and Oct. 31.
A spokesperson for NJ Transit says that the agency is actively and thoroughly investigating the incident.
The spokesperson said in a statement, “This operator is in clear violation of New Jersey state law and NJ Transit policies and regulations. Appropriate action will be taken immediately to ensure this behavior is not repeated.”
