A New Jersey teen is making incredible progress after a cliff-diving accident in New York.
The 18-year-old girl, who asked News 12 not to use her name, fell 35 feet headfirst while she was cliff jumping with friends in July.
"I just remember looking down and I was like, 'Oh my gosh,' and then I don't remember anything after that," she said.
She says she suffered multiple broken bones, internal injuries and a concussion that required surgery and nearly two weeks in the hospital.
Dr. Sara Dayal treated the teen at Hackensack Hospital's trauma unit.
"This could've been a devastating injury," Dayal said.
The girl tells News 12 she has doctor's appointments almost every day and sometimes a couple of times a day.
She says her family is grateful, but also struggling to pay for unexpected medical care without insurance.
