Many college students are going to have to dig deeper into their pockets due to state budget cuts forcing tuition to go up at most colleges. Students at New Jersey City University weren't happy to hear that tuition is going up 7.8 percent. School officials say with less funding from the state, they didn?t have much of a choice and are raising tuition by about $500 this year. In addition to the tuition hike, there are going to be 15 fewer faculty members at the university and some positions aren't going to be filled at all. The school is also cutting back on energy by increasing thermostats by one or two degrees.
