A New Jersey man received a double lung transplant last week after organs were donated from one of the shooting victims who was killed at a Clifton church 10 days ago. He was released from the hospital Wednesday.
John Muscarella, 21, was told two days ago that the lungs he received were from Dennis John Mallosseril. Mallosseril is the man who was fatally shot while trying to break up a domestic dispute between the alleged shooter, Joseph Pallipurath, and his estranged wife.
Muscarella suffers from cystic fibrosis and was told by doctors that there was a less than 50 percent chance he would live another two years without a transplant.
John?s aunt visited Muscarella Wednesday and told him she hopes he gets to do some of the things her nephew wanted to do in his own life. Many of John?s other organs have been donated to other New Jersey residents, including his heart.
