A meeting was held Saturday for families from around the state who have a relative missing.
They were brought together by the state police, who said they want to help close cases and bring the families some relief.
Officials say 1,100 people are missing in New Jersey, with some of those cases dating back to the 1960s.
The event was held to help the families network and to provide information about new tools used to reopen old cases, such as victim assistance facial reconstruction.
Officials say there are 300 cases of unidentified human remains statewide.
The event was held at the Rutgers University College Avenue Student Center in New Brunswick.
