Newark woman accused of stabbing man following dispute
A woman is facing charges in connection with an aggravated assault stabbing that happened Sunday night in Newark, Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose said.
Ambrose said officers responded to West Runyon Street near Seymour Avenue around 9 p.m. on a call of a stabbing. Police said a 34-year old man was stabbed following a dispute with a woman whom he knows.
The victim was taken to University Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
Ambrose said the woman was identified as Medina Gibson, 31, of Newark. Authorities apprehended her around 11 p.m.
Gibson was arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
