The largest Black arts institution in the state celebrated Juneteenth with a three-day summit.
Newark Symphony Hall hosted multiple panels and events this week, focused on economic development and creativity. Their goal is to continue fundraising to restore the building and use it as a creative space for community members in Newark.
Hundreds came out this week to recognize arts and education for the summit's third year.
"It’s also an obligation to make sure we’re telling our story. We’re opening our doors for culture and making sure everyone has a place here at Newark Symphony Hall," said Talia Young, president and CEO.
Newark Symphony Hall will celebrate 100 anniversary next year.
