The Newark School District’s first Rhodes Scholar is appealing to Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos to bring the company’s second headquarters to the Brick City.
Jordan Thomas says the idea has a lot of support.
"So many people in the city truly believe and truly hope that the future is coming now in the form of Amazon,” Thomas says. ”I just think that entire community backing that we have behind this initiative from private, to government, to public, is something that you just don't see in other cities. "
Newark is among the final 20 cities that Amazon is considering for its second headquarter location.
Thomas was valedictorian of University High School in 2014 and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Princeton this year. He will be going to Oxford this fall.
