Newark police: 2 arrested in connection to stolen cars

The drivers tried to abandon the cars, but officers say they found them shortly after.

Authorities in Newark say two suspects were arrested in connection to two stolen cars.

They say they used a police chopper to spot the stolen cars, which led to the arrest of the two young suspects, including one 16-year-old.

Police say the cars were driving out of control Saturday around 8 p.m. in the area of Bergen Street and South Orange Avenue.

The drivers tried to abandon the cars, but officers say they found them shortly after.
