Newark held its first housing lottery Monday for the sale of city-owned properties.
The homes up for grabs have been seized for non-payment of taxes, water bills and other public debts.
Program participants must commit to live in the properties for a minimum of 10 years. They will also be eligible for a city-sanctioned mortgage program that requires no down payment, no fees and no closing costs – regardless of credit score.
Residents can learn how to apply or get more information by calling NACA Newark at 973-679-2601 or CLICK HERE to access the Homeownership Revitalization Program FAQ.
