A Newark man has been convicted of assaulting his former girlfriend inside her home in 2023.
Prosecutors say 25-year-old Jason Blount restrained, attacked and threatened to kill the victim at the residence in Glen Ridge.
He was found guilty of unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, criminal restraint and terroristic threats.
He is set to be sentenced in October. He faces up to 5 years in prison.
