Bronx schools, teachers and parents now have new tools to get test results faster and to improve student achievement.
The State Education Department says it has a groundbreaking data collection and reporting system. Education officials say beginning this fall, test results will be delivered directly to Bronx schools electronically. The results will give teachers instant access to data regarding each student?s performance, including breakdowns by race, disability and English proficiency.
Education officials say that Bronx parents will also benefit from the new system. Parents will get in-depth printed reports detailing their children?s performance on the tests. The state education commissioner says these tools give teachers and parents a new way to pinpoint academic problems and improve student performance.
