A week after the FDA authorized the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, seniors in New Rochelle rolled up their sleeves at a new pop-up clinic to receive it.
Officials are targeting disabled seniors living in public housing who may not be able to make an appointment otherwise.
The process was made easier because they are giving out the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which only requires one dose.
About 300 seniors will be inoculated at the housing complex. The county-run clinic opened up appointments for the pop-up location about a week ago.
The goal is to reach seniors, and more specifically, minorities who have a lower vaccination rate than their white counterparts.
Vaccines are by appointment.
