A Tinton Falls council member was arrested and charged with simple assault in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident.
Council member Kashyap Parikh was arrested by the Tinton Falls Police Department on Aug. 23, 2026. He was processed and released on a complaint-summons pending upcoming court proceedings.
Municipal officials stated that the alleged incident occurred at a private residence and was personal in nature, emphasizing that it was unrelated to borough business, property, employees or municipal resources. Operations within the borough and daily municipal services remain unaffected.
Borough officials declined to comment further on the underlying allegations or evidence, citing the ongoing judicial process and privacy protections for those involved.
