More than 300,000 workers in the Bronx and statewide will see more money in their paychecks as the minimum wage increase goes into effect Sunday.
The minimum wage increased from $6 an hour to $6.75 and will go up again in 2007 to $7.15 an hour. The new law was enacted despite Governor George Pataki's (R-NY) veto.
The state Legislature approved the increases in 2004.
