New Jersey has now seen 30 consecutive days without a drop of rain. This is a very typical pattern for areas in the desert southwest. Is this the Garden State’s new normal?
The next chance for showers might be a trick. But I’m not “ghouling” around when I say trick-or-treaters are in for a treat on Halloween.
The weather pattern hasn’t changed much. Fair weather continues its grip over the region. A few “sprinkles” materialized with a slight southerly onshore flow and a weak warm front lifting through the area.
Technically, a few neighborhoods saw 0.01 inches of rain. It’s just enough to put annoying spots on our cars and essentially end the consecutive dry streak for some municipalities. However, this was not the case at Newark Liberty International Airport. We still haven’t had any measurable liquid fall in that particular rain gauge. The best chance at seeing some widespread light shower activity might come in the wee hours of Friday morning (Nov. 1) Guidance is beginning to back away from a statewide sweep of light rain. Instead, it looks more hit-and-miss in nature.
