Temperatures soared near 100 degrees in the Garden State Saturday.
Cooling centers have been set up across the state to help residents fight the heat this weekend. Emergency responders also say they're prepared for the worst.
"We're ready for anything that may happen this weekend," says Dominick Sandelli, Morristown Ambulance Corp captain.
The Department of Health is urging children and elderly residents to stay indoors as much possible. It is also reminding residents to stay hydrated and wear loose clothing.
