Parts of New Jersey were recovering Saturday after being slammed by severe storms Friday.
Bergen County was one of the hardest hit areas. In Tenafly, there was runoff from Friday night's storm into several homeowners' backyards. "The water made its way ? onto the patio and into the basement," says Matt Matsuo, who owns a home in the area.
Homeowners on Magnolia Avenue describe the overflowing water as a continuing problem. "Older houses on larger lots have been torn down and where one house was, two houses have been built," Rick Winfield, of Tenefly.
Developers have put in a drainage pipe, but it hasn't worked. Frustrated homeowners are now calling on the town to do something about it.
"The failure should be of the storm water overflowing to city streets, not going into our basements, not wiping out our yards," says Debbie D'Amico.
