A new QuickChek is opening its doors today in Shrewsbury.

The new convenience store and gas station on Shrewsbury Avenue has been under construction since last November.

The store will be open 24 hours a day, right across from the Apple Street intersection, creating 45 local jobs, including eight management positions.

The 5,496-square-foot convenience store has 16 vehicle fueling stations under a large canopy outside.
