JIM THORPE, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a New Jersey man's body was recovered from the river near a Pennsylvania waterfall, the second death in the same area in two weeks.
Fire department officials in Jim Thorpe said the man was reported missing at about 5 p.m. Friday in the Lehigh River near Glen Onoko Falls in Lehigh Gorge State Park.
Deputy chief Bill Diehm told The (Allentown) Morning Call that divers located the victim's body Friday night but swift water prevented a recovery, so a dam was used to lower water levels and the body was recovered at about 9:30 a.m. Saturday.
The Carbon County coroner's office isn't releasing his name, age or address.
Angel Rivas, age 24, of Hazleton. died June 19 as he and friends swam across rapids in the same area.
